FOUNDATION FOR DUTCH HERITAGE OVERSEAS
The objectives of the New Holland Foundation (NHF) are:
- the preservation of Dutch material and immaterial cultural heritage overseas through scholarly research and public programs
- the promotion of cultural relations between The Netherlands and its former colonies through their shared history and cultural heritage
NY400—a project of the NHF—aims to provide a home at the South Street Seaport Museum in New York City for the scale model of seventeenth-century New Amsterdam as a lasting reminder of the Dutch role in founding New York.
NY400 consists of two phases:
- Shipping the current scale model to New York City
- Raising funds to expand the scale model and secure its permanent presence at the South Street Seaport Museum
The NHF is raising funds to the amount of $300,000 for the first phase of NY400. You can support shipping the scale model of New Amsterdam to the South Street Seaport Museum in New York City by becoming a Founding Father or Founding Mother of New Amsterdam.
The NHF is an independent and non-governmental non-profit organization, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
