In 2025, the NAF proudly launched the NAF Cultural Fund, giving donors the unique opportunity to support specific cultural genres while receiving formal recognition for their contributions. The Fund began with founding gifts from three generous donors and continues to grow through the passion and vision of our supporters.
Donors can direct their gifts to various thematic categories (sleeves’) such as Modern Dance, Architecture, or Sculpture. There is also the possibility of creating a new sleeve based on emerging interests. At its launch, the Cultural Fund includes three sleeves:
- General Cultural Sleeve
- Classical Music Sleeve
- Ottho Heldring Cultural Internship Sleeve
If a donor is interested in supporting a specific award within a sleeve, they can choose from three types of awards, each of which can be named in their honor.
- Grants ($10k–$25k): Support a specific project or institution, with annual funding and re-evaluation every 3–5 years.
- Prizes ($10k–$15k): Celebrate excellence in a specific cultural category.
- Cultural Internships ($25k): Fund 4–6 month cultural or curatorial internships, fostering exchange and collaboration between the US and the Netherlands.
The Cultural Fund is more than a way to give, it’s a chance to support meaningful cultural exchange and leave a lasting mark on the cultural exchange between the US and the Netherlands.
